You, who follows InteraSolo, already knows that soil and water are vital natural resources to the preservation of life on Earth and, to preserve them, it is needed to combine sustainable management methods.
In this sense, specialists of various federal and state agencies met on May 8th, 2018 at Embrapa Solos (RJ), to discuss the implementation of a soil and water conservation program for the Rio de Janeiro state.
The program, with the support of public and private institutions, proposes the environmental and productive adequacy of rural properties, through the adoption of farming practices of greater sustainability. Nowadays, Rio de Janeiro has several degraded areas, mainly occupied with poorly managed pastures. This scenario is due to the agricultural non-conservationist exploration of soil since remote times, what has been the reason of environmentalists preoccupation for quite some time.
The degradation of soil represents the loss of its productive capacity as well as water resources loss. That is why its preservation is fundamental.
