The Global Symposium on Soil Erosion
You, who follows InteraSolo, know that a major environmental problem of the present is soil erosion. We have already dealt about this subject before, and today we are talking The Global Symposium on Soil Erosion – GSER19, a high-level science-politicy meeting that will discuss the issue.
The event is being organized by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the Global Soil Partnership (GSP), the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on soils (ITPS), the Science- Policy Interface of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD-SPI) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Symposium has as objective to present erosion prevention and control methodologies, counting on the most recent scientific knowledge regarding to interventions and innovations in soil erosion management, which may contribute to an improvement of food security and to the correct functioning of ecosystems.
The event will be held on May 15 to 17 at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. The GSER19 Organization Committee is still receiving abstracts that will compete for oral and poster presentations until March 10 (2019) and, the best part, the participation in the Symposium is free!!
